After months of hard training and a high mileage, a strong group of Oxford runners stepped up to tackle the London Marathon in April, the pinnacle of distance running, annually incorporating the Varsity Marathon match.

On 5th February this year an Oxford University Cross Country Club contingent made the seven hour train journey up to Stirling, Scotland, for the British Universities and Colleges’ Sport (BUCS) Cross Country Championships. BUCS 2010 looked set to be hotly contested, with extensive entries from universities across the UK and a number of big names competing for both individual and team honours.
With the Club's annual intercollegiate cross country race doubling up as one of the three selection races for this year's Varsity match, attendance was high and everyone was eager to see how the day would unfold...
As a sparsely populated OUCCC coach rolled into a typical miserable, rain soaked Birmingham my spirit was high thinking about the anguish I would soon be witnessing on the faces of the day's brave Oxford crowd...
